BS10 CONTEXT BASED TRAINING

Adapting

This year context based training in BS10 has developed in exciting ways. The eleven students are now split into three groups each with a particular focus for mission in the parish (though we still meet together for worship prayer and to learn together). These three foci are centred around the Brentry area of the parish, the Parish church and congregation (St Mary’s Henbury) and the area around Station Road in Henbury (an area of mainly social housing).

This means that each group of three or four students see that foci as their main place of mission in the context where they can ‘be’ where they serve and where they learn. In practice this means each group working with the supervisors has the time and freedom to explore what God is calling them to and means that they have the chance to make a significant contribution.

It hasn’t been easy but we are pretty excited about this new opportunity and will keep the blog up to date with what we have been up to.
